Dr. Martin obtained her doctoral degree in Psychology from the University of Windsor, and is registered as a psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
After graduating with an Honors BA in psychology from the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Martin completed her MA in Applied Child Psychology at the University of Guelph. As part of the MA degree, she received training at CPRI in London, ON, and with the Waterloo County Board of Education. Before pursuing her Ph.D., she worked for several years at CPRI in the Home Visiting Program for Infants, specifically with the Program for Infants and Children with Down Syndrome. This involved home visiting within the counties surrounding London, and consultation with parents, and staff at preschools and schools. While completing her doctoral degree, she also worked at CPRI on the Children’s Outpatient Service.
After obtaining her Ph.D., she completed a postdoctoral internship at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), providing both out-patient and in-patient services.
She has experience as a school psychologist, working for several years as a psychologist with the Ottawa Board of Education, which later amalgamated to become the Ottawa Carleton District School Board. As well as providing assessment, therapy, and consultation services to a number of schools, both elementary and high schools, Dr. Martin was the psychologist for the Autism Spectrum Disorders Team (ASD team) of the Ottawa Carleton District School Board (OCDSB). This involved consulting with teachers and school staff with respect to integration, program, and behavior management of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders in regular classrooms. In addition, she was responsible for students with ASD, who attended specialized classes, including development and monitoring of ABA programs, and providing in-service sessions for teachers and support staff across the OCDSB.
Since 2002, Dr. Martin has been in full-time private practice in Ottawa, providing psychological services to children, adolescents, and families. In 2013, she opened a second office in London, ON.Contact Dr. Martin
